Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in signing Brentford attacker Joane Wissa this summer.
However, Manchester United could risk the possibility of signing Congo International. Reports from Football Insider show that Brentford will only sanction the resignation of one attacker this summer, and Manchester United are closed to Brian M Beumo.
It seems unlikely that they would sanction Wissa’s departure.
Tottenham hopes to sign the 28 year old this summer, but that will be a big blow to them. It is still unknown if they have decided to move on to other targets.
Tottenham needs the Yoan War
They need another reliable striker who can consistently score goals. Dominique Solanke was inconsistent last season, and Wissa would have been a quality addition.
He scored 20 goals in all Brentford tournaments last season, but there’s no doubt he has the qualities he needs to compete at the highest level. The move to Tottenham might have been ideal for him. He would have experienced Champions League football with them, and he could also be reunited with Thomas Frank at the North London Club.
Wissa misses big moves?
This could be his last chance to join a big club and if he is denied a move to Tottenham, the player could be disappointed. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
I understand why Brentford took that stance. They wouldn’t want to seriously weaken their teams during the summer window by selling multiple key players. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will be able to convince them with a favorable proposal.
Tottenham will need to improve their team if they want to fight for a massive trophy next season. Signing a trustworthy striker like Wissa can make a huge difference for them.
