Newcastle United remain interested in signing Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth in the coming months.

SportWitness reports that Newcastle have sent scouts to watch the player play.

The 29-year-old Norwegian has struggled to get regular opportunities at Spanish clubs and may need to move to play regularly. Julian Alvarez is currently the Spanish club’s first-choice striker.

A move to Newcastle could be ideal for Alexander Soros

Soros needs to play more often at this stage of his career. A return to the Premier League could be ideal for him. He scored 24 goals in all competitions last season and could be a great addition for Newcastle. He has been hailed as a “great” player.

The Magpies invested in two quality strikers in the summer transfer window. They signed Nick Waltemaid and Ioan Wissa. The German international has been impressive since joining the club, but Wissa has been unable to make an impact due to injury.

Newcastle currently appear to be looking to add depth to their side. The former Crystal Palace striker knows the league well and could make an immediate impact. The opportunity to join Newcastle could be an exciting one for him, especially if they are willing to offer him guaranteed game time. He wouldn’t want to sit on the bench at an English club.

It will be interesting to see how Newcastle accommodate three strikers in their starting XI. Neither of them will want to sit on the bench.

Newcastle compete in the UEFA Champions League and want to compete for big trophies on a regular basis. They need more quality and depth in the side. At 29 years old, he has the quality and experience to help them grow. Whether they can convince him to join remains to be seen.

They are one of the richest clubs in the world and La Liga teams have the funds to sell strikers.
