Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are keen on Bournemouth defender Ilya Zabarini at the end of the season.
According to GMS, the three clubs are monitoring the 22-year-old Ukrainian defender, but Bournemouth could resist selling. They have already approved Dean Huysen’s departure for Real Madrid, and they cannot afford to lose another key player in the same window.
The 22-year-old defender is outstanding for Cherry, and he has been labelled “incredible” in the past. He has an attribute that develops into a top-class player, but it’s not surprising that the big club is enthusiastic about him.
Chelsea and Newcastle can use Ilya Zabarini
Chelsea need to be strong defensively, and the 22-year-old could prove to be a useful long-term investment. It remains to be seen whether he has decided to test Bournemouth’s resolve on the offer to sign the player. Players like Benoit Badiashile are overwhelming, and Wesley Fofana struggles with persistent injuries. Signing a quality central defender this summer is a priority for Chelsea.
As far as Newcastle is concerned, they need a reliable partner for Svenbotman this summer, especially if they want to qualify for the Champions League. We need a better defensive organization to fight for a massive trophy next year.
Defender-focused Tottenham
Tottenham’s interest in players is hardly a surprise. Christian Romero continues to be linked to the exit, and they need to replace him.
Ukrainians may prove to be the ideal alternative. He has the ability to improve defensively across all three clubs and is drawn to the idea of playing on the ambitious side next season. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.
