Newcastle United are interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sollos at the end of the season.
The Norwegian joined the Spanish club last summer and he is outstanding for them. He has 21 goals for his name at competitions this season. The 29-year-old striker has proven to be an ideal acquisition for Newcastle, as he is trying to add more depth to his attacking units, according to Fichajes.
Newcastle needs another striker
They are overly dependent on Alexander Isaac. Newcastle needs plenty of options at will, especially if it qualifies for the Champions League.
Newcastle won the English League Cup this season. Next year they hope to fight for a massive trophy. If you want to match up with elite clubs, you need a better, deeper team.
Alexander Sorros makes a great addition
Sollos has proven himself in La Liga and has the ability to do well in the Premier League. He has the physicality to adapt to British football. And if Newcastle could make a deal he could ask for immediate impact.
The Norwegian played in the Premier League at Crystal Palace.
It will be interesting to see if Atletico Madrid is willing to sanction his departure after a season with the club. He is praised as an “illusion” by Diego Simeone.
Newcastle has the finances to submit attractive offers to strikers. They are trying to build a formidable team, and La Liga attackers would be the ideal acquisition.
Newcastle should also try to improve its defense forces during the summer window. They sometimes looked vulnerable behind them.
