Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing Dillen Bakwa from Strasbourg at the end of the season and could face competition from Chelsea, Newcastle United and West Ham United.
According to TBR Football, Tottenham and West Ham are taking a close step towards the 22-year-old attacker, and it is still unclear whether they have decided to make a move for him at the end of the season. The report argues that he may be heading to Chelsea in interest from multiple clubs.
Bakwa has 11 goal contributions this season, and he could be a useful addition to the Tottenham attack. He creates opportunities for teammates and helps him find the backstage of the net as well. He shows quality in League 1 and has the attributes to succeed in the Premier League as well.
Chelsea have also been closely watched by players, and their scouts are very impressed. There is no doubt that Chelsea has the advantage of signing a 22-year-old in the race. Strasbourg is owned by Blueco and may prefer to sell to clubs owned by the same company.
Chelsea can also use more quality on the sides. Mykhailo Mudryk is so overwhelming for them, and we are not sure they will sign Jadon Sancho forever.
Can Tottenham sign Diren Bakwa?
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can beat them to his signature.
They need more quality and depth of the sides. The 22-year-old could be a replacement for Timo Werner, whose loan agreement expires in the summer.
It’s still not known where Bakwa will end. He is drawn to the idea of playing in the Premier League and will likely want to join a club where he can fight for the trophy regularly.
Newcastle, meanwhile, is overly dependent on Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isaac. They can complete the front 3 using another high quality attacker.
