AS Roma are reportedly preparing to sign Joshua Zirkzee in January, with the Manchester United striker emerging as a loan target to strengthen the Giallorossi’s front line.
According to The Sun, Roma view the 24-year-old as a promising option who could add mobility, link play and goals in the second half of the season.
Zirksee, who has yet to start a competitive match for United this season, has long been admired in Serie A following his standout spell at Bologna before moving to Old Trafford.
United are set to hold talks with the Dutch international ahead of the winter season, with a mid-season move firmly on the table.

In the Serie A match against Bologna, he honed his technique of playing with his back to the goal while developing his backline, and these traits translated well into Roma’s style of play.
For Zirksee, returning to Italy offers continuity in a league where he has already proven his effectiveness and earned a reputation, particularly impressing Man United, who signed him for these reasons.
However, Zirkzee has struggled for minutes since Benjamin Sesco joined the club, and in a season where most players will be looking to get maximum minutes ahead of next year’s World Cup, Zirkzee may be considering a move away from Old Trafford.
If Zirksee remains an established option and opportunities remain limited, a loan could help all parties, allowing the player to find rhythm and form and, if he impresses, United could let him go for a decent transfer fee in the future.

Links with other Italian clubs are not surprising given his track record. However, Roma appear ready to make Zirksee a priority and make an early move if conditions are viable.
