Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix.
The 25-year-old has been outstanding since joining the Eagles, and his performance has attracted Tottenham’s attention. According to a report by L’Equipe, several other Europeans are enthusiastic about French defenders, and it remains to be seen whether the Spurs will be able to win the race for his signature.
Maxence Lacroix is perfect for Spurs
They need more quality in the defensive forces, especially when Christian Romero leaves the club. Lacroix is the perfect fit for them due to his recovery work and top speed. Tottenham likes to play high defensive lines, while the French are good when it comes to maneuvering on the high line. He was extremely efficient even in one-on-one situations.
According to Sky Sports, the defender recorded a top speed of 35.81 km/h. He could be the ideal partner for Mickey Van de Ben, who was the fastest defender in the Premier League last season.
Can Tottenham convince Crystal Palace?
It will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace is willing to sanction his departure. It seems very unlikely that the London Club will let the French defender leave. Marc Guehi is the final year of his contract and he is very likely to move on. Crystal Palace doesn’t want to lose two important defenders in one window.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham has decided to test its resolve with a favorable proposal.
It may not be too difficult to convince a 25-year-old defender to join the club. He is drawn to the idea of competing with Tottenham in the UEFA Champions League. They were able to provide him with a platform to fight for the trophy. But convincing his club, this summer could cost a ridiculous amount.
