Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is facing growing questions about his future at Old Trafford following a mixed start to the season.
With United finishing 14th in the Premier League table and struggling with consistency, we’re speculating whether the Portuguese coach will be given time to turn things around.
United were beaten convincingly by Brentford on Saturday. The Red Devils went through a 3-1 loss, their third loss of the Premier League season.
It was a match where all their new offensive signatures began. Benjamin Sesco, Mateus Cunya and Brian Mbemo began the match, but it was ultimately proven comfort that Sesco alone scored the goal.
Reuben Amorim relaxes about his man’s united role
Talking to the media, Amorim revealed that he has not lost his sleep about the possibility of being fired.
When asked directly about his job safety, Amorim responded with a distinctive calm.
“I’m not worried because that wasn’t my decision.” He explained, as Fabrizio Romano reported.
“I’ll do my best I can here every minute. I don’t worry about losing my job. I’m not that kind of person.”
The rebellious words of the 40-year-old reflect both his personality and his management philosophy. Amorim has long been seen as a coach who thrives under pressure.
However, it refuses to end his struggle as he does not work for United for him. Whether it’s the poor form of the player, or his formation and tactics, Amorim can’t get anything right at the club at this time.
Amorim is struggling to improve United
The United Manager has come close to a year with his job, but he has yet to win the backback game in the Premier League.
The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League last season, but after encouragement from the summer transfer window, they were expected to challenge European locations.
They’re far from doing that at the moment, so United’s Amorim clock is ticking along with the club where the club is reportedly looking to his successor, taking into account their form and performance.
