Manchester United manager Reuben Amorim reportedly urges the club to pursue Christopher Nukank ahead of Chelsea, according to the Sun.
Amorim is a well-known admirer of Nkunku and believes that French international could be a valuable addition to United’s attack options.
Nkunku’s versatility allows him to attack forwards, second strikers or midfielders, and fits well with Amorim’s tactical plans.
Nkunku is said to like to move towards clubs competing in the UEFA Champions League.
Man United hopes for Chelsea attackers this summer
United’s ability to provide Champions League football will depend on their outcomes with Tottenham in the upcoming UEFA Europa League final.
The victory will secure a position in European Premier Club competitions and potentially make them a more attractive destination for Nukank.
Nkunku is a consistent performer in Germany, registering an impressive 125 target contributions in RB Leipzig’s 172 appearances.
His explosive form represents a major breakthrough after a challenging period at Paris Saint-Germain, where he struggled with consistent playing times and failed to establish himself.
Chelsea took him to Stamford Bridge.
However, frequent injuries and limited opportunities are hampering his progress. Although we got a glimpse into his talent, Nkunku is far below expectations and manages a contribution of just 22 goals in 56 games for the Blues.
Amorim is keen to strengthen attacks
In addition to Nkunku, Amorim is reportedly interested in sports CP striker Viktor Gyoker.
Swedish International had an impressive season, scoring 53 goals and providing 13 assists in 51 appearances. Amorim, who previously managed Gyoker in the sport, sees him as a reliable goal scorer who can enhance United’s offensive firepower.
United’s managers have seen both attackers. Rasmus Holund and Joshua Zirkzee struggled with the club this season.
The club reportedly put both of these attackers on sale this summer as Amorim prepares to reshuffle the attack.
