Manchester United took another hit with a loss in the Europa League final last night, confirming that this will go down as one of the worst seasons in their recent history.
Tottenham won 1-0 at Bilbao, with Mann UTD taking silverware and denying a chance to compete in the Champions League next season.
It was also the Red Devils’ 20th loss of the season. Since 22 years since he was actually demoted in 1974, he has been struggling with one campaign.
After last night’s Europa League final, Opta Joe posted this terrible statistic about Reuben Amorim’s aspect, so please see below…
It was a truly nightmare campaign for United. United are 16th in the Premier League table, just 39 points and -12 goals behind.
Can Reuben Amorim turn things around with Manchester United?
Amorim looked like a very exciting coach at former club Sports Lisbon, but he doesn’t escape the fact that he appears to have retreated this team.
Under his predecessor, Eric Tenhugg, things didn’t exactly work, but it appears that things actually got worse. This is a few feats.
Amorim’s tactics don’t seem to work, and you have to wonder how much time he is given to make the project work.
Could this defeat actually be positive for United?
Sounds stupid, and MUFC might do their best to not get the trophy last night.
Let’s face it, this is clearly a very poor team and winning the trophy would have only put papers on the numerous cracks in Old Trafford.
Of course, fans want to see the club win the final and play at the highest level, but this team needs more work before they are ready to compete in the Champions League.
