Liverpool hopes to agree to a new deal with star defender Ibrahimaconate in the coming weeks.
The 25-year-old French International ended his contract in 2026, and he has not yet signed an extension with Liverpool. According to a TBR Football report, Liverpool has already been in contact with the player’s representatives, and the belief within the club is that the player will commit his long-term future to the club.
Liverpool recently agreed to a new deal with Mohamed Sarah, and they are also expected to bring Virgil van Dyke into a new deal. It will be interesting to see if that would be enough to convince Conate to sign a new contract with the club.
Ibrahima Conate is an important player
He’s definitely one of the best defenders in the Premier League. He is a key player for Liverpool. If they are serious about fighting for major trophies regularly, they cannot afford to lose players of his abilities. Konate has been linking with big clubs recently.
The Frenchman enters the peak period of his career and Liverpool must hold onto him for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, the report alleges that Liverpool also wants to agree to a new deal with Connor Bradley and Curtis Jones. Alumni from both academies have been doing very well for Liverpool over the past few seasons, and they are likely to continue to be useful players for the club in the future. It makes sense for Liverpool to maintain a talented, homemade outlook like Jones and Bradley.
Liverpool fans certainly look forward to the club working to secure the future of three more players after securing a breakthrough in contract negotiations with Sarah. It is thought that the update of Van Dijk is only a matter of time.
