The Golden State Warriors added Richard to the roster on their 56th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Initially, the No. 56 pick belonged to the Memphis Grizzlies, but the Golden State Warriors acquired it mid-draft.
Dove used the pick to welcome Will Richard into the team. The 22-year-old will have the opportunity to play for the same team as Stephen Curry.
The assassin who faces the baby is now one of the NBA’s faces. Curry had a major impact on modern times with his three-point shooting.
Along the way, he has also become a favorite of many draft prospects, and Richard is certainly among them.
“For me, it was my favorite players, he and Klay (Thompson).
He added:
What was the impact of the short message on curry? Well, it sent a wave of motivation through Richard.
“It meant motivation to hear from the guy you grew up watching, from the person you grew up with affection that it was definitely some motivation,” Richard revealed.
Often, late picks in the second round rarely carved out a decent career in the NBA. After all, it is the most competitive basketball league in the world.
But is it impossible to do? Certainly not. Especially for someone like Richard, who had a four-year NCAA career with the Belmont Bruins.
Richard averaged 11.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in 141 appearances, and shot 46.3% solid from the field.
He also shot 35.5% from deep in his college career. These numbers make him a solid shooter and he will probably get better while training with someone in the curry caliber.
