Rick Carlisle details what the Pacers did to confuse the Cavaliers.
In one of the biggest series confusions in recent memory, the Indiana Pacers eliminated the first seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.
After a 60+ victory season, the Cavaliers weren’t allowed to pass the second round. During the series, Kenny Atkinson was critical of the Cavaliers at various points.
Donovan Mitchell’s injury issues have led to his performance in the series derailing. However, the series seriously contaminated his legacy as a superstar.
Many compared Donovan Mitchell’s impact on the Cavaliers with LeBron James. That take is very poor.
That being said, few people were hoping that the Pacers would beat the Cavaliers and return to the Eastern Conference Finals. So, how did they do that?

Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle spoke about how his team finished the Cleveland Cavaliers season. He didn’t want to take anything from what the Cavs and Kenny Atkinson accomplished.
In the end, they played really well, but ran to the Indiana Pacers side, which was ignited at the right time, but that didn’t work for them.
“This is one of the best teams in the league. There are no injuries, dents or dents. They had an amazing year.
“Kenny did an amazing job. They just had a perfect season. Then we came and we’re hot at the right time.”

In yet another season when they tried to compete for a championship that ends in disappointment, will the Cavaliers make some changes?
This roster performed in the regular season. They had one of the best records in the NBA, three All-Stars and Ruler of the Year Player of the Year at Evan Mobley.
However, the playoffs proved too much for them. Yes, they wiped out the heat in Miami, but this heat roster was not considered a threat to them.
Pacer, meanwhile, was a weaker person against the Cavaliers. For some reason, their team collapsed under the playoff spotlight, with the exception of Donovan Mitchell.
