Manchester United’s Summer Signature by Benjamin Sesco was considered a statement of intent.
However, the Premier League match against Chelsea reveals a rift in worry about his adaptation, raising questions about his confidence, responsibility and impact.
The young attacker has yet to score a goal for the Red Devils after five Premier League matches.
Adapting to the Premier League is not easy, but questions have been raised about the performance of the Red Devils’ Cesco, given how the other signatures performed at Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitique and Arsenal’s Victor Gyoker’s Hugo Ekitique.
Club legend Rio Ferdinand has publicly called on Sesco to change his mind after criticizing the surprising statistics from his game against Chelsea.
Benjamin Sesco is struggling with Man United
During United’s 2-1 victory over 10 Chelsea, Sesco was barely visible in the offensive phase.
According to Ferdinand, he recorded just six touches in the first half.
“In the first half, he had six touches against 10 men.” Ferdinand said on his YouTube podcast. “Six Touch!”
“I think responsibility applies to strikers (as with other players),” Ferdinand added.
“In today’s games, technology is enough to be free to use, and you can get it in black and white on your iPad and tell your teammates.
“Amado on the weekend, I thought he played a lot and was in a great position on the left, so Sesco pulled away the defender with an 18-yard box and Amado had to roll it on him.
“It’s the last third decision that will either free him or not. He has to order many players through runs that make it very obvious after the game or physically convey it.
“They know that Rood (Van Nistelloui) had it, so they’re the type of conversation he has to have.
“Ronaldo had done too many step-overs and wasn’t playing it when he wanted it, so I saw Rude van Nistellouis walking out of the training field.
“You have to find it somewhere to get your teammates to know, and that’s what he’s built up.”
Sesko was unable to stamp this permission
United paid Sesco about £74 million during the summer transfer period, believing that they would consistently contribute to their goals and critical moments.
However, after six appearances, he is still waiting for his first goal in a Red Devils shirt.
The lack of involvement is so severe that Sesko was replaced at halftime. This suggests that neither the player nor the manager is satisfied with how it affects the game.
Sesko’s enormous transfer fees, potentials and expectations all reach a greater stage.
For United, they have invested heavily and are battling both past expectations and current pressures, so all players, especially those signed by big money, are measured by how they affect the match.
