Newcastle is moving in the striker market as it prepares for Alexander Isaac’s expected departure to Liverpool. They’re already on Benjamin Sesco, but if they miss him, there are some alternatives lined up.
Sesco is currently the top target for Newcastle, but they could miss him, and Man United is also circling. This is why other options are also being seen. One of them is Ollie Watkins, which links to the transition to Old Trafford.

According to a soccer insider, Mick Brown revealed that Newcastle took part in the race this summer to sign Watkins.
“There was a lot of talk about Ollie Watkins at the villa. They had Arsenal coming for him in January, and they were still interested before signing.
“I think it’s said that’s what Villa will be open and Watkins is open to leaving too. Once the club comes in for him, he wants to explore his options. Newcastle is preparing to lose Isaac, so they see a lot of different players who can potentially come and close the gap.
“He was the best option we could use so we were really pushing Villa to sign him when I was there and they finally did it. Now he has Premier League and international experience.
It’s still unclear where Watkins will end, but if it’s Newcastle, he’d be good for Eddie Howe’s team.
