According to Fabrizio Romano, Intermiami and Atletico Madrid have begun discussions over Rodrigo de Paul, a potential participation in the MLS side. Argentina International is said to be open to this idea as it is keen to maintain its high ambitions after leaving the FIFA Club World Cup.
De Paul has been at Atletico for four years as a key player under Diego Simeone. In all competitions, he made a total of 187 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals and contributing 26 assists from his position in the middle of the park. He was also a key player in Argentina when he reached the glory of the World Cup in 2022. His contract at Wandame Tropolitano has expired next year, and it appears that his 31-year-old era in the Spanish capital is nearing an end.
Intermiami is also keen to continue working with Lionel Messi beyond the expiration of the current contracts for the eight Ballon d’Or at the end of the calendar year.
