Liverpool defender Jarrel Kuanza is currently trapped in a move to German club Bayer Lebakusen.
The 22-year-old Central Defender will be taking part in the Bundesliga outfit for a deal worth around £35 million, including bonuses. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the player will complete medical care tomorrow, and that Liverpool has the option to bring him back to the club in the future.
However, the Reds will have to pay around £60-70 million to complete the transaction.
Jarell Quansah needs game time
Quansah is highly regarded throughout Europe and he has a bright future. However, he needs regular game time to develop. If he can fulfill his potential in the future, Liverpool may be able to bring him back to the club.
The 22-year-old struggled with game times last season, and a move to Germany might be ideal for him. It remains to be seen whether he can hold back the regular starting spot at the German club.
Leverkusen loses Jonathan Tah and needs to add more depth to the back. A 22-year-old could be the ideal long-term investment for them. If he can make an impression in the upcoming season, the German club should be able to double its investment.
For now, they try to care for him as a key player at the club.
Defenders turn their eyes to Liverpool
Meanwhile, Liverpool has been linking with central defenders like Mark Guech for the last few weeks. It will be interesting to see if they have decided to sign the Crystal Palace star this summer. They can use more depth with defensive units, especially after the departure of younger defenders.
It would be ideal to have a different central defender for the club, as Joe Gomez can be very unreliable in terms of availability.
