Ronaldinho wanted to be like the English legend Paul ShoalsThierry Henry was “scared” by the man Icon Shoals

Ronaldinho is considered one of the most skilled footballers of all time, but the Brazilian icon once admitted that he was jealous of one English legendary ability.

The former Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and AC Milan star has almost signed with Manchester United, with the people of Old Trafford seeing him as the replacement of David Beckham. However, the people at Nou Camp hijacked deals with attackers who are on the move to become Barcelona’s star.

Ronaldinho never played club football in England, but he broke the heart of the Three Lions at the 2002 World Cup and scored the winning goal by lobbing David Seaman in the quarter-finals.

The winner of the 2005 Ballon d’Or also faced the Premier League side of the Champions League, which won Barcelona in 2006.

During his playing day, one particular Premier League and England icon caught Ronaldinho’s eye.

Speaking earlier, Ronaldinho shared his admiration for Manchester United and the English legend Paul Scholes.

Considered one of the best midfielders the Premier League has ever seen, Shoals starred under Ir Alex Ferguson after passing through Red Devils Academy.

Best known for his passing, technical abilities and midfield intelligence, the Shoals have won 11 league titles and scored over 150 goals in Man UTD’s 700 appearances.

Ronaldinho faced the Shoals at the 2002 World Cup before reappearing with AC Milan from the 2009/10 Champions Lee Ground.

Man Utd and Scholes made Ronaldinho and Ac Milan better, defeating 7-2 in total, and the Brazilians admitted he was jealous of the British’s ability to pass.

“I want to give it to you like him. Who taught him how to do that?”

Arsenal icon Thierry Henry is one the Shoals faced more regularly in his career, with the French forward losing eight times in 19 matches against the British and man UTD.

Henry once revealed that he and his gunner teammates were “always scared of what the Shoals can do” with the ball at his feet.

“We had a lot of great players at (Manchester) United, but whenever we faced them, we were always scared of what Paul Shoals could do.

“If you let him play, he could kill you, and for me he was so underrated. How he plays: one touch, arrive late to the box, how he hit the ball, his vision, he passed away.
