Four top-five finishes and three podiums rounded the second Donington Park BSB into one of the best of Rory Skinner’s season.
The Scottish rider was third in the first two races of the weekend and led the lap in the last one before reaching second.
“That was good,” Skinner told crash.net after race four at Donington.
“It was good to change the way I run in my recent form, and although it was tough in the last few rounds, there were a few tracks I missed after breaking my leg last year.
“So, coming here, we knew we were going to take a good step to change it like our destiny.
“I’m really happy today. It was a great weekend. The team worked perfectly. In that last race, they gave me the best bike I’ve had all year round.”
Donington’s weekend went on to the unusual four-race format for BSB as the series shuffled its schedule to narrow down the races lost earlier this year at Alton Park.
This was probably a format with little variety in the race, as all four races are the same length (12 laps), but Skinner enjoyed it.
“That was good, I’m ready now for something else to be fair,” he joked.
“It was good. I think I prefer some long races out there, but there’s a reason and it was good.
“I think it worked.”
Entering the final three rounds, Skinner came in third in rider positions and began to increase points per race from the next round at Assen.
“I think it’s the right time to go back to shape a bit,” he said.
“I’m excited about it, I think it’s good.
“Asen is a great track and I look forward to riding a superbike here and there.”
