Ruben Amorim is well aware of the current situation.Manchester United duo desperate for more playing time

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has moved to quell mounting speculation over the futures of Koby Mainu and Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the January transfer window.

Both players have failed to make regular starts this season, and there are reports suggesting that they could leave the club on loan or on a permanent basis once the market reopens.

Mainu and Zirkzee have seen little playing time this season as coach Amorim preferred other options.

Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro have been given the chance to play in the attacking midfield this season, with summer signing Benjamin Sesco rated higher than Zirksee.

Ruben Amorim is well aware of the current situation.

With the January transfer window just over two months away, Amorim was asked about the future of both players.

He said this (via ManUtd.com): “It’s normal and we know that everything is so loud at our club and you have to know the news and the players aren’t playing.

“They want to play. Like you said, there’s a World Cup. There’s an agent who’s always listening to the players’ conversations.”

“We understand that, but these are our players and we all need to have a good season.”

At this point, it’s difficult to see Mainu and Zirksee getting more playing time. Mr. Amorim set his priorities. He intends to proceed with his current choice.

A move away from Old Trafford in January appears to be the only logical option for both players who want to feature for their national teams at the World Cup.

It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will accept a permanent transfer or a loan move.

Given their quality and past performance, there would be no shortage of suitors should he decide to leave Man United.
