While answering questions about the Met Gala, Russell Westbrook revealed his relationship with former Lakers teammate LeBron James.
The Denver Nuggets and Russell Westbrook are on high after a thrilling Nicola Jokick performance led to a Game 1 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Westbrook was a key piece in securing Denver’s victory, providing three assists who won the game for Aaron Gordon. He also scored 18 points during the game.
As Denver continues to launch the playoffs, this is a reminder of what this is for previous MVPs compared to the past few seasons.
Russ dealt with enormous criticism and hatred, especially during his stint with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2021 to 2023. Interestingly, something related to it appeared after the Game 1 victory.
After his stint with the Lakers, Westbrook joined the Clippers across town. And although still not very successful, it was better than his time in purple and gold.
There were rumours that LeBron James helped the Lakers move from Westbrook. And speculation about their relationship has continued ever since.
After talking to the press after Game 1, the Nuggets man was asked if he had given James a hint of the Met Gala and gave him an interesting answer.
“I didn’t. I wasn’t talking to Bron.
Russ was not an MVP level player he had peaked for several years. He’s coming out of the bench. However, his time with the Nuggets led to many productive minutes.
George Carl called him the “severe man” that Denver needed, and he actually brought his relentless tenacity to the team.
Other than that, he averaged 13.3 points and 6.1 assists per game during the regular season. His scores are high in the playoffs, with Lass averaging 14.4 points per game.
If he can play a key role in Denver winning another NBA championship, it will be the ultimate glory moment worthy of being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
