On Tuesday night, Russell Westbrook became the first player in NBA history, scoring 200 triple doubles and earning the milestone in the Grizzlies’ Nuggets NBA Cup victory.

Russell Westbrook has long been exempt from everyone in the triple-double rankings for some time, but he ultimately reached a new milestone this week, becoming the first player in NBA history and earning a 200 regular-season triple doubles.

Westbrook has already actually recorded 200 triple doubles throughout his career, with another 12 coming in the postseason.

Only one of Westbrook’s 200 triple doubles is in Denver, with most coming in 11 years in Oklahoma.

Westbrook Triple doubles per team

  • Oklahoma City Thunder – 138
  • Washington Wizard – 38
  • Houston Rockets – 8
  • Los Angeles Lakers – 10
  • Los Angeles Clippers – 5
  • Denver Nuggets – 1

Westbrook had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists in his 200th triple-double, with an NBA Cup victory against the Grizzlies.

Nicola Djokic missed his third straight game for personal reasons, with three MVPs absent, and Westbrook stepped off the bench with a horrifying performance.

The Nuggets are now 1-1 in perhaps the most difficult NBA Cup group, with both Maverick and Pelicans likely having four teams competing in the top two spots where Steph Curry’s Warriors are the only unbeaten team.

“That’s a blessing,” Westbrook said after the game. “I’m really grateful to be able to play enough games to do that, but I’m also grateful to the people who came before me.”

Westbrook is currently a triple triple double leader over the age of 19, with Oscar Robertson gone, over 40 in history.

Westbrook’s triple-double record is incredible, but it’s not invincible, with one of his teammates looking firmly at the 36-year-old’s incredible 200, with Jokic just behind by 64.
