Thousands of golf fans in the New York area could face a major surprise over the next five months. PGA of America offers free tickets to Beth Page Black’s Ryder Cup.
In a present called “People’s Parka,” the American PGA randomly hands out tickets to New York residents – notifying them when and where on Beth Page Black and some other public golf courses.
The Metropolitan PGA section will help you choose public courses, and the PGA of America will conduct randomly selected visits to distribute tickets. There will also be a series of special visits to offer tickets for the Ryder Cup to area first responders and community groups.
In both cases, the present will feature PGA of America leaders and special Ryder Cup guests.
The Ryder Cup is September 28-30 at the infamous black course at Bethpage State Park, which hosted two US Opens and PGA Championships. The first US opening on a true public course took place in 2002 at Bethpage Black, known as “The People’s Open.”
The Ryder Cup is one of the toughest tickets for golf next to the master. Ticket prices for competition day (including food and non-alcoholic drinks) were $750 for the 2025 match. More than doubled the 2021 Moore Whi Strait, and twice as many Ryder Cups were held in the US.
Over half a million people have registered to purchase tickets. They were released on November 13th, and tickets for Match Day (Friday to Sunday) sold out in a few hours.
Random prizes are 500 tickets per day from Tuesday to Sunday. Each selected person will receive a voucher for two tickets.
Anyone who gets a free ticket on practice days from Tuesday to Thursday can use the junior admission policy, where children under 15 years old are free to enter with ticketed adults.

The European won two years ago for Italian Marco Simone, winning eight of the past 11 Ryder Cups. The final victory in US soil was in Medina in 2012.
