The San Antonio Spurs may have found a talented defender in the 2025 NBA Summer League.

A good way to test the potential of such players in the NBA Summer League. Speaking of which, the Spurs registered a dominant 111-70 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Often, the most popular player in the NBA is the top scorer on the court. It takes a lot of hard work to be recognized as an elite scorer, but that doesn’t mean fans should overlook their defensive skills.
Well, Spurs fans did not make that mistake between Game vs. 76ers as they praised 19-year-old Carter Bryant.
“Carter Bryant is a complete threat to defense,” one fan wrote. Another was added, but “BroCarter Bryant is a demon.”
“We’re watching the elite play defensively by Carter Bryant,” the third fan added.
“Carter Bryant is everywhere,” the fourth fan announced.
“Carter Bryant is exactly what San Antonio needs in his wings,” one fan believes.
Due to context, Bryant put in five points, five rebounds and two assists against the 76ers, but he was excellent on the defensive side of the floor.
After all, the 19-year-old stole three blocks and one while being +17 in just 19 minutes.
Now, the Spurs already have multiple stars that can take care of things on the offensive edge of the floor. Clearly, Bryant has a wide open path to becoming a defensive leader for his team.
It’s easier than that, but NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins has high hopes for Bryant. In fact, Perkins went as far as comparing him to New York Knicks star OG Anunoby.
“Carter Bryant has a lot of OG Anubies inside him!” Perkins tweeted on X.
Anunoby is currently one of the league’s most versatile players and remains a pivotal part of the Knicks’ defense.
Simply put, it’s not a small deal to be compared to his work ethics and skill player in his 14th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
