Manchester United have reportedly already agreed to sell Bruno Fernandes to the Saudi Pro League club for a whopping £100m transfer fee.
This cash will then be used to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Bareva and Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliott Anderson.
That’s according to reliable journalist Indy Kaira, this “secret” deal to acquire Fernandes for cash next summer has already been agreed and is only waiting for the Portuguese international to finalize personal terms with his next club.
For Indicaira’s post about X, see below. It says it plans to reinvest £100m in Baleba and Anderson.
Fernandes has been Man UTD’s star performer for many years, and while it won’t be easy to replace him, some fans may feel it’s probably the right time to move on.
Is it time for Manchester United to replace Bruno Fernandes?
Fernandes isn’t getting any younger, so making £100m from a player who will be 32 next season seems a little easier from a business perspective.
And even though the former sporting Lisbon man is a world-class talent who can provide magical moments to decide games, it might also be wise to bring in a midfielder suited to Rubén Amorim’s playing style.
Fernandes’ role in Amorim’s formation and tactics wasn’t always so clear-cut, so it might help the club not have an obvious star in that area of the pitch.
A different emphasis could generally improve the team’s flow in the long run, as United could probably rely a little too much on Fernandes to get out of trouble.
Baleba and Anderson are great players who have shown what they can do in the Premier League, so most MUFC fans will welcome them as replacements in the new-look midfield.
