The 2024/25 campaign was certainly a disappointment for West Ham United. Graham Potter’s team finished 14th in the Premier League, but given some of the team’s talent, it could be seen as an overall disappointing campaign.
Certainly, one of the biggest problems in the final semester of Hammer was putting the ball behind the net. They’re not easy to score goals, earning 46 in total, and are better than just five aspects, as if they were modest. Unfortunately, they were based on a tally of expected goals. This was 50.59xg in the previous term.
Despite losing Mohammed Kudus’ offensive talent this summer and joining the Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham is considering adding firepower to their squad to the area ahead.
West Ham’s latest attack target
Of course, losing players with Kudos’ offensive quality is a blow to the Hammer, but they still have something on their side like Jarrod Bowen who can contribute to the attack. The hammer appears to be making a shocking move this summer to increase the depth of the area ahead.
A recent report from Graeme Bailey suggests that West Ham was one of the sides who “registered their interest” to sign a new breakout star in Real Madrid this summer, signing and signing Real Madrid’s new breakout star, Gonzalo Garcia, suggesting they held talks to sign him.
The striker who created his name at the recent Club World Cup in America has also been nominated by newly promoted Pearlies United and Sunderland and the Hammers London rival Brentford.
This is a loan agreement, but previous reports suggest that in Spain, Chelsea are ready to split £34 million for his signature.
Why Garcia is a good signing
It’s safe to say that last month or so was a whirlwind for Garcia. He certainly got his chance at the Los Blancos Club World Cup after Killian Mbappe fell ill at the start of the competition.
Before the tournament began in June, the 21-year-old only played six times for Madrid’s senior side. His record for Real Madrid Castila was impressive, earning 30 goals and seven assists in 73 appearances.
However, former striker Josel said the Madrid-born attacker has been “sensational” since becoming a key player in the Club World Cup. He bagged four goals and grabbed assists in six matches in the tournament.
These kinds of numbers certainly pique the interest of West Ham fans, and perhaps their captain Bowen.
The 28-year-old was once again sensational in his final semester, sparkling in front of goals with 13 goals and 10 assists in 34 Premier League matches.
Certainly, some of the figures the English star posted earlier via FBREF suggests he might well link to the Los Blancos guy.
For example, he averaged 0.24 crosses and 1.39 passes in the penalty area every 90 minutes last season, ranking them in the top 17% and 14% respectively.
Passing it to a penalty box like the one mentioned above by Danny Ins last season could be a fatal combination of Bowen and Garcia. Some of his numbers from the Club World Cup suggest that they can form a dangerous duo.
According to Squawka’s statistics, the Los Blancos Academy star scored four goals from within the competition’s penalty box. It not only emphasizes the instincts of a great center forward, but also suggests that he can reach the end of Bowen’s cross. He also had a conversion rate of 44.44%.

These types of numbers, coupled with Bowen’s tendency to incorporate crosses into the box to create opportunities in his final ten Premier League assists, is sufficient evidence to suggest that these two could become a fatal partnership.
Initially, there is only a loan agreement, but a fee of £34 million has been reported. If the temporary move goes well, it could probably become permanent and turn into one of the summer bargains.
