Reports say the “sensational” goalkeeper has been identified as the top target for Aston Villa, replacing Emiliano Martinez this summer.
Martinez time at the villa may be nearing its end
After becoming a neighbor with Arsenal, Martinez’s career has moved from strength to strength since moving to Villa Park. This played a key role in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory, scooping up the Golden Globes.
His country’s goalkeeper’s impressive performance has been closely linked to several top displays at the club level, and recently won the Premier League Save of the Season Award at a remarkable stop with Nottingham Forest.
But his 32-year-old days with villagers show that Manchester United is currently the most keen interest in his signature, while Atletico Madrid is also nominated as a potential suitor, amid growing interest in his signature.
So Unai Emery could be tasked with doing replacements during the stick this summer, and a new top target has been identified by recruiting chiefs, namely OGC Nice Goalkeeper Marcin Bulka.
In fact, according to a Bootroom report, Burka is now emerging as Aston Villa’s first choice option to replace Martinez if the goalkeeper moves this summer, but Marseille and other unnamed clubs can offer competition for his signature.
Nice wanted the shotstopper to be willing to commit to a new contract, but the discussion has not progressed. If he doesn’t sign a new deal, the French could aim for cash this summer and open the door for travelling to the Villa Park.
“Sensenational” Burka is moved in League One
Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has picked out Paul for praise in the past, describing him as “sensational” in his performance at the club level.

French journalist Julian Fuller was also impressed by the performance of Polish International, celebrating the £6K week goalkeeper for his “huge” contribution to his team’s shock victory.
That said, Burka could be a great signing for Aston Villa, but they still hope that Martinez will remain at the club, winning two Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper Awards at Villa Park and most recently won the 2024 award.
