Sergio Perez reportedly will be able to find a surprise new F1 home along with Mercedes.
Perez took over Lewis Hamilton as a teammate of Max Verstappen and the top driver of Formula 1, with Mercedes’ side.
However, after being xed this season by Red Bull, searching for a return to the grid in 2026 could lead to a spectacular switch to previous rival Mercedes.
Perez held a “first talk” with the Toto Wolff team, Motorsport.com report.
But before Perez races Mercedes, the domino effect of the huge driver market movement will be needed.
Wolff reportedly keeps his eyes on Perez in case he’s lacking due to other huge driver movements.
It has been suggested that Wolff praise Perez’s ability to develop cars and support his teammates.
Is it the F1 domino effect that brings Sergio Perez to Mercedes?
Trigger has been signed for a long term with Red Bull, but the next step will be the future of Max Verstappen, who is causing the debate due to his lack of competitiveness in his car.
Aston Martin is reportedly going to launch a huge money move to sign Verstappen in 2026.
Next year, F1 2026 regulations will begin to give all teams the opportunity to build a dominant era. Aston Martin has Adrian Newey, who previously created the Verstappen title, who works in the corner.
If Red Bull loses Starman, they are reportedly interested in signing Mercedes’ George Russell.
Russell’s current deal expires at the end of this season, but he is linked with a lucrative salary to stay with Mercedes.
After comprehensively qualifying Hamilton last season, Russell became the team’s senior driver alongside rookie Andrea Kimmi Antoneri.
Red Bull signs Russell on the unforeseen circumstances that Aston Martin signs Verstappen. There’s a chance Perez will get a Mercedes Drive.
It’s unlikely, probably. And certainly, before that becomes possible, you will need to hit some large deals.
But even the name of Perez is mentioned suggests that he holds faith within the F1 paddock despite his awful final year at Red Bull.
He also has the option to Alpine, who swapped Jack Doohan for Franco Colapinto for the next five Grand Presses.
Cadillac, the 11th team on the grid next year, is also strongly tied with Perez.
