The latest TransferBuzz is surrounded by RB Leipzig’s impressive sensory Benjamin Sesco, both Newcastle United and Manchester United actively pursue the 22-year-old forward.
Magpies prepare for life without Alexander Isaac if he leaves the club this summer after expressing his desire to leave St. James Park.
Sesko is reportedly able to move this summer, so he is in high demand among Premier League teams looking to add firepower to the attack.
Sesko agrees to personal terms with Newcastle United
Italian journalist Nicolo Silla reports that Sesco reached an agreement in principle on his personal terms with Newcastle and committed to a five-year potential contract until 2030.
He posted an update to his X account:
“Benjamin Sesco has agreed with Newcastle to sign a deal with Newcastle until 2030. NUFC is currently working to reach a deal with Leipzig.”
If that move comes true, Sesco is properly placed in the slot in the Magpie plan as a long-term number nine.
According to current reports, Newcastle is actively negotiating with Sesco and his agents, but Leipzig has not yet received an official offer.
Bundesliga Insiders suggests that Newcastle may have a way to buy Sesco. With a pay of nearly 70 million euros, it’s well below his 80 million euro release clause.
Man United still believes they can sign Sesco
Despite Newcastle’s advantages, Man United has not yet given up. They remain on the Sesco nominee list and are engaged in initial consultations with striker representatives.
If Newcastle weakens or slows down, United still sprints, similar to past transfers of Mateus Cuña and Brian Mbeumo.
As it stands, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle is ahead of Premier League rivals in the race to sign a Bundesliga striker this summer.
