The Golden State Warriors have made a big move after being quiet for much of the offseason.
The biggest signing, of course, was former Boston Celtics star Al Horford, who joined the team on a two-year deal.
Aside from Horford, the Golden State Warriors also welcomed veteran guard Seth Curry. Yes, Stephen Curry’s younger brother has finally found his way to the Warriors after 11 seasons in the NBA.
Curry won’t officially join the Warriors until November, but he’ll soon be sharing the court with his older brother.
However, some may wonder why the Curry brothers had to wait more than a decade to finally join the same team. Well, Seth explained it on 95.7 The Game.
“They needed some depth on the bench and they didn’t have it outside of Steph and Buddy (Hield),” Curry said. “
He added: “Obviously they have a lot of guys who spread the floor with a high percentage of 3-pointers.
“They had guys that could play off the floor, good defenders, good slashers, but it was kind of a role for me on the bench to go in there and make shots. That’s what I came here to do.”
Simply put, the Warriors’ lack of an elite shooter on their bench made Seth’s addition possible. The Warriors, who has a career 3-point shooting percentage of 43.3%, will undoubtedly benefit from his presence.
Despite being brothers, there is no doubt that Steph is a better player than Seth as the baby-faced assassin has won numerous awards during his career.
Still, Seth made it clear that he remains open to the possibility of the two-time NBA MVP sharing the court with him.
“Steph was always open to the opportunity for me to play with him and the Warriors,” Seth concluded.
If the Curry brothers unite, the top cherry will win an NBA championship as a Warriors teammate.
