Seth Curry will finally play alongside his brother Stephen for the next season.
Technically, they played temporarily together in 2013 in 2013 before the regular season began, with Seth Curry being exempt from his non-guaranteed contract.
Next season will present another situation, with Seth officially joining the Warriors’ roster on November 15th due to pay cap requirements.
However, the signing process has proven not smooth due to the complicated summer conditions of the franchise.
Jonathan Cuminga’s long-term contract negotiations prevented the Warriors from making official roster moves despite verbal agreements with players, including Al Horford, De Anthony Melton and Seth himself.
The extraordinary situation created an extended wait period for players who expect to join Golden State.
Seth recently explained his feelings about the long waiting process and ultimately playing professionally with his siblings.
“It was weird, I’ve never seen anything. I’ve definitely never seen it in my career. It’s a team that already knows what they have, but it’s not official for a few months.
“It’s good for me to have everyone pushing the same path and trying to win the championship, in order to have the opportunity to come to the organization I won.”
Seth admitted he was reluctant to play alongside his former Stephen, but expressed excitement that the current opportunity is realising.
“I really didn’t want to join the same team as Steph, but for some reason I’m comfortable here, Steph is excited about it. I’m excited about it,” he added.
Seth may not be a major role for next season, but his skill set fits the needs of the Warriors’ system with revolving ability.
Last season, along with the Charlotte Hornets, he averaged 6.5 points per game, shooting an impressive 45.6% from the 3-point range.
His elite shooting rates demonstrate the Sharpshooter’s ability to complement Golden State’s offensive philosophy, providing valuable spacing and boundary threats as he enters the game as a reserve.
