As Daniel Fark and Chris Wilder Butt head towards the respective sides of Leeds United and Sheffield United, the two serial championship promotion winners will continue to trade the batting at the top of the second tier table.
In combination, the German and Sheffield-born managers were both able to win an astounding six promotions on their management resumes.
Unlike Fark, however, Wilder has been successful in the difficult Premier League, and the former Norwich City boss is famously reverting straight back to the EFL.
On the contrary, the 57-year-old managed to get an incredible ninth place finish for the blade during the 2019/20 season, with Billy Sharp and CO playing in big times without fear.
It’s hard to imagine his side relaxing back on top flights and the much-loved boss will be able to do this soon, but he’ll hope that his team can fight the right thing.
After all, if promotions are sealed, United must be very busy with the transfer window.

GK-Michael Cooper
GK-Michael Cooper
Wilder could stick to Michael Cooper’s number one goalkeeper if promotion is achieved. The former Plymouth Argyle Shot Stopper has been revealed during the blade stick since joining last summer.
Considering Cooper holds 19 clean sheets in two stages of action this season, the 25-year-old, 25, has become a bargain.

RB – Jonjoe Kenny
RB – Jonjoe Kenny
Unlike Bramall Lane’s Keeper Spot, the right-back position was the problem area of all South Yorkshire campaigns.
Things like Alfie Gilchrist, Harry Clark and Femi Seriki line up here this season, but the promotion could potentially United eventually get their long-term target, John Joe Kenny.
The transaction appeared to be on the table in the January window, just because the transaction went down after the two clubs failed to agree to the transfer fee.
Transfer focus
Mega Money deals, controversial moves, famous flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinions across Football FanCust.
The former Everton man stands out as a vast full-back option for his current employer, Elta Berlin, with seven assists next to the names of the two Vandesliga.

CB -Anel Ahmedhodzic
CB -Anel Ahmedhodzic
At the end of the 2023/24 campaign, Anel Ahmedhodzic won 4.5 duels per clash that season, leaving United’s unmoralisted relegation that kept his head high.
The Bosnians want to go back to the Premier League. United Titans welcome the formidable on the back of the second tier, and his defensive expertise now sees 14 clean sheets being picked up.
4
CB – Andrew Omobamidele
CB – Andrew Omobamidele
Just like with the right backspot, Wilder’s men shed light on the numbers in the centre-back division next season, with lenders returning to Crystal Palace.
Therefore, the blade can try to shine away from the Nottingham Forest, the Republic of Ireland, now shining at RC Strasbourg.
The Irishman has averaged 94% passing accuracy from the previous four League One contests, resulting in Omobamidere building a healthy working relationship with perhaps more impressive Ahmedhodzic.
5
LB-Harrison Burrows
LB-Harrison Burrows
Harrison Burrows wants to work with Kenny in fullback positions alongside the former Peterborough United man and Gunho Bodhi in the lower left.
Five goals and three assists came in Burrows’ way, as the 23-year-old could soon prepare to navigate a tricky step-up.
6
CM -Hamza Choudhury
CM -Hamza Choudhury
Wilder would jump at joy if he could land Hamza Choudhry in a permanent deal after his loan agreement from Leicester City expires.
Already, Choudhury was impressed with his defensive midfield with three ball recovery averaged by league. The 27-year-old boasts 57 top flight appearances, allowing her team to give the team the experience they need.
7
CM – Vinicius Souza
CM – Vinicius Souza
To further strengthen his team in the Premier League, Wilder will likely call on Vinicius Sousa to partner with Chowdhury, who has returned.
He has only one goal to scream in the second tier on 2024/25, but the Brazilian won 6.9 duels from 28 league appearances when fighting for his high-flying team.
In the pits of the relegation battle, the 25-year-old was able to present much needed grit and steel to his team.
8
RM -Ben Brereton Diaz
RM -Ben Brereton Diaz
Leaving primarily those chosen as dogs, Wilder hopes that Ben Breton Diaz will stick it on South Yorkshire forever and give his team firepower to the top.
The first position of these two positions, which can be down the right side, or as a traditional centre forward, gave Chile a lot of joy in his Bramal Lane return.
9
Cam – Calmuo Hair
Cam – Calmuo Hair
While Rhian Brewster has recently nodded to No. 10, Callum O’Hare is the number he could be chosen here if Premier League football is on the menu.
After all, Brewster never scored for the blade on the top flight. That means he could once again find himself from his depths.
Plus, O’Hare has won the number of former Liverpool guys in the second tier this season, with eight goal contributions shining next to Brewster’s Lesser Seven.
10
LM -Gustavo Hamer
LM -Gustavo Hamer
Like Ahmedhodzic before him, Gustavo Hammer has proven himself in the past as a somewhat Premier League performer for Wilder and Co.
Ten goal contributions have been posted by a former Coventry Cityman, despite the relegation looming on the horizon. His growing total gave him a sense of promotion, with eight goals and five assists from a 35-second tier game.
11
st-Josh Sargent
st-Josh Sargent
Wilder doesn’t want to remove his current attack options on top flights, but this is clearly too intriguing to refuse if Josh Sargent is given the opportunity to join from Norwich City.
Ranked as the best forward in the second tier of the soccer league world, Sargent has actually improved Tyree Campbell this season with a fatal 13 strikes picked up from 26 league outings this season.
Fark is known to be an avid American admirer, so if Sgt. is appearing in South Yorkshire, this would be a Leeds tooth kick.
