Sheffield United will have to beat the playoff hoodoo in the championship if they want to return to the Premier League for the first time and return to the Premier League for the first time.
Surprisingly, Blade lost all eight of the previous playoff campaigns they found, but if there’s one man who can oppose grain in this respect, then looking at his two promotions at his beloved hometown club is Chris Wilder.
To get over the line, Wilder needs to fire all of his blade players in every cylinder, including top scorer Tailece Campbell.
United Campbell score form
Blade hasn’t blown the team away with the offensive Arsenal of this campaign. The South Yorkshire outfit boasts 62 strikes next to the already promoted Leeds United Side.
However, even if the display wasn’t always the most freeway flowing, there were still forward players who stood out. Campbell is definitely taking part in this conversation.
The former Stoke City man arrived through the door for a free transfer to prove much, given that the end of his time with the Potters was primarily injured, but Campbell tallied most of his football story this season with 10 championship strikes so far.
Unfortunately, the 25-year-old’s goal was drained with United’s miserable run of four defeats from five league conflicts, but Wilder feels he can offer plenty of his numbers when the playoff core is officially ongoing.
He backs Campbell, but Wilder wants to have a very reliable head among the groups who will pursue his promotion if possible.
Sheffield United legend is now outweighing Campbell
Wilder has acquired many interesting characters as United has been trying to promote over the years. Something like John Fleck won a bumper 12 goal contribution when the manager finally led the blade to the top flight.
In the same memorable group, Billy Sharp constantly loves to play with creative Scots, and the explosive veteran went to the bag on his own 23 strike during the 2018/19 campaign, further sealing off the team’s advances to big times.
Sharp has not lost this scoring expertise playing for the current Side Doncaster Rovers. The 39-year-old won his glittering sixth career promotion this weekend when a Grant McCann man beat Bradford City 2-1.
Of course, the Sheffield-born goal machine, previously hailed as an “EFL legend” by BBC 5 Live Sports Presenter Steve Crosman, was forced to take part in Donnie’s goalscoring action.

Surprisingly, the 39-year-old star output actually improved Campbell’s 10-goal hauling at Bramal Lane, delaying Doncaster’s play day, and Wilder has now not lifted his nose in the hypothetical scenario of a red and white blade to try another promotional success for his team.
Of course, United will be hard to overcome mistakes near the top two positions, but the ongoing playoff misery jinx is broken.
