The Los Angeles have been hampered by injuries throughout the season, but the shoe hei ohtani has made great strides in his work to return to the mound.
In his latest bullpen Saturday, he touched 95 mph over the course of a 35-pitch session following Bill Plunkett on the Orange County Register.

His breaking pitch has not yet been featured, but the increase in speed is a promising sign. When Otani returns to leading the slider to these sessions, he is able to move to the next stage of his simulated game, pitching progression.
When fans can expect three MVPs to put the slider in the mix, manager Dave Roberts confirmed to team doctor Dr Neil Ellatrash.
“I think it’s more of the Dr. Eratrach who’s talking to our trainers and the hei. I think these three are collectively driving this process,” Roberts said of the establishment of the slider.
Roberts also spoke about speed improvements from Otani and seemed pleased with the positive update.
“From what I’ve heard, he was increasing it a little more at speed,” Roberts said. “From talking to the trainer, I think that’s a good sign. There’s a little more strength there.”
Otani doesn’t wear a uniform yet, but along with the Los Angeles Angels, he boasted a 3.51 ERA with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3.51 in five pitching seasons at Anaheim (which lasts only one season due to a mass stock of flexor pronoters in his right elbow in 2020).
The keep the superstars from rushing back as they are about having enough otanis to pitch both the bat and the pitch at an elite level deep in the season.
Fans saw what he did in 2024 when he was just a batsman, but bringing the same talent and strength to the mound in October would be a realisation of nearly two years of dreams for the organization.
