Los Angeles superstar Shohai Otani is not with the team on Friday. They are on father’s leave with wife Mamiko, so they start a 3-game series with the Texas Rangers and are hoping for their first child.

Otani announced in late December that he and his wife were expecting their first child.
“We can’t wait for a little rookie to join our family any time soon!” the Instagram caption said.
Now is the moment when Otani officially becomes a father.
Outfielder Eddy Rosario, discovered Friday at Globe Lifefield, is replacing Ohatani with an active roster for the time being.
Roberts said Otani could potentially rejoin the by the end of this weekend’s three-game series.
