Los Angeles two-way star Shohei Ohtani seems to be doing everything, but it turns out he needed medical attention between Games 3 and 4 of the World Series.

In a thrilling 18-inning World Series Game 3 that quickly became a classic, Ohtani stepped up to the plate and went 4-for-4 with two home runs, two doubles and three RBIs.
Just 17 hours after Freddie Freeman’s walk-off homer that gave the a 6-5 victory on Monday night, Ohtani was assigned to pitch in Game 4. The were clearly affected by their 18-inning battle last game, and Ohtani was no exception.
The two-way star received an intravenous fluid after Game 3 of the Fall Classic, less than 24 hours before his first career World Series start, according to MLB Insider Jon Heyman.
“Ohtani lasted until the seventh inning, even though he required medical attention until early in the morning (the IV was administered after midnight). Ohtani was interviewed after his historic Game 3, after reaching base 9 of 9 times before suffering a late cramp. However, he was seen being rushed out by security an hour after the game, and was initially thought to have left early to catch up on some sleep.
The weren’t planning on Ohtani starting this series again, but the defending champion will be at full strength going into Games 6 and 7.
