The Los Angeles were swept for the first time in a six-game highway series this season, 0-6 with the Los Angeles Angels.
The led each of their last two games and are now sitting in unfamiliar territory to second place in the National League West.

After the game, Shohei Ohtani, the ‘ Wednesday night starter and leadoff batsman, responding to his performance, faced a six-year old team.
Of course, he was focused on losses.
“It’s bad to lose a close game,” Otani said through an interpreter. “It’s mentally tough.”

“It’s obviously awkward to fall to second place and lose a lot of these games,” he said. “We do everything with our strength to try and get the ship right.

Shohei Ohtani responds to angels pitching on Angel Stadium.
Wednesday was Otani’s first pitching at Angel Stadium as a visitor. He went into 4.1 innings, allowing seven runs while allowing seven innings to win.
He enjoyed being able to return to the stadium, which he called his hometown for six years.
“I had lots of good memories of this stadium, and it’s one of my favorite stadiums, so being able to pitch this mound again was a really important mark,” Otani said.

Finally, Otani will face Mike Trout in the 2023 World Baseball Classic rematch. There, Otani attacked him by swinging with a sweeper to win the tournament.
On Wednesday it was the same for Ohtani. He attacked the mass twice, so once swimmered and saw a fastball at 100.7 mph.
“I was executed really well in two at-bats against him,” Otani said.
