The Los Angeles announced that reigning MVP Shohei Ohtani will start Game 7 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The right-handed pitcher also started Game 4 at Stadium on Saturday and is scheduled to make his second start in the series. In his last outing, Ohtani pitched six innings, allowing four earned runs and striking out six batters.

The two-way superstar has started three games this postseason, allowing seven runs in 18 innings. All three of his starts in the playoffs lasted six innings, and he never threw more than 100 pitches.
manager Dave Roberts revealed that L.A. will only use three relief pitchers during the game and will use all of them from the bullpen following the Game 6 victory. The only pitcher Roberts ruled out for the final game of the series was Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who started the previous game.
“I don’t know the pitcher’s situation,” Roberts said. “But (Tyler Glasnow) will be available. Everyone will be available.”

Ohtani is putting together an excellent postseason campaign, posting a 1.111 OPS and .714 slugging percentage through 16 postseason games. His eight home runs through the playoffs tied the record set by Corey Seager during the 2020 season.
The have lost just one game on the road heading into Game 7 and will look to win their second straight World Series on Saturday. The are on the right side of history, having won both of their recent Game 7 games on the road. However, both of these games were played in the NLCS, not the World Series.
They will look to continue that trend in the final game of the 2025 season on Saturday at 5 p.m. PT.
