Los Angeles bidirectional star Shohai Otani will make his next appearance on the mound with the Colorado Rockies this Wednesday, manager Dave Roberts revealed before Monday’s series opener.

Otani pitches LA’s final three Wednesdays and stays on that schedule this week. However, this is a little different.
The have given them the ability to rest each of the last three Thursdays after Otani’s start, giving them the ability to rest one day after his two-way play. However, this week, the will be performing Thursday’s series finale at Coorsfield.
Roberts said Otani’s status for Thursday’s game is now “determined.” Otani may take a break after Wednesday’s game. This makes sense given that Thursday is a one-day game, with the team traveling to San Diego for a three-game set against the Padres.

As for the start, Otani is scheduled to pitch five innings at Coors Field on Wednesday.
Otani was scheduled to pitch five innings against the Los Angeles Angels last Wednesday, but continued for just 4.1 innings before being pulled.
Otani threw a season-high 80 pitch in that start.
