Shy Gilgauss Alexander scored 40 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder won his fourth game in the Western Conference Finals.
The Thunder won games 1 and 2 at home before experiencing an embarrassing 42-point defeat in Game 3 in Minnesota.
Game 4 was a completely different story as Gilgeous-Alexander had perhaps his biggest playoff performance.
The most valuable player to crown the new crow was world class from start to finish and received many praise from former players and experts.
One original All-Star explained that after the latest excellent display, the SGA actually “saved the NBA.”
The biggest criticism of the NBA at this point is that there is not enough variation in player and team style play.
The introduction of analysis into sports means that everyone will mostly shoot 3-pointers and layups and dunks in the basket.
Gilgeous-Alexander opposes the mold as his favorite shot is from mid-range distances, and Jefftigue thinks it’s great for the league.
“I want to say something about the SGA,” Teague said. “I think the SGA saved the NBA, I’m not saying it’s because of the way he plays, not how he plays.
“He saved the NBA because he’s a copycat league and completed the midrange game, so he regained his ability to shoot midrange shots. It was three or layups.
“He’s an MVP and his go-to shot is midrange. He’s literally just saved the NBA.
“There was a defense to take that shot and he finished it. He got to his bread and butter and he’s scoring freely, so it looks crazy.
“Even though his game is very smooth, he’s not the funniest person, but when you watch basketball, you know, “How is he effective?”
“It’s all based on his ability to get to midrange. So now they have to be able to get a good shot every time, so they’re other people who know they have to be three-level scorers.”
Teague believes Gilgus Alexander’s proficiency from the midrange will separate him from Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.
Edwards is still an All-NBA Calibre Player, but he is at least under one layer of MVP and is a potential Final MVP winner.
“The difference between him and Ant-Man is that Ant-Man can take mid-range shots, but what he can count on is reaching a bucket or three,” Teague explained.
“That’s what he preached. But he’s so skilled and explosive that if you play in the midrange area, if they cum on him, he gets so many easy baskets.”
