Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a perfect year with the OKC Thunder, winning the franchise’s first ever championship.
He entered the fairly exclusive list of NBA players, winning the MVP, Final MVP and Championship Trophy in the same year, winning Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers.
The 27-year-old has been consistent throughout the season, having the same momentum in the playoffs and leading the way head-on.
Even in the finals, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had multiple big games, including dropping 15 points in the fourth quarter of Game 4 and helping OKC Thunder take a 3-2 lead.
His performance helped him gain praise from everyone in the NBA community.
Even weeks after the championship victory, there have been talk of Canadian performances, but this time it was one of his teammates who praised him.
Shy won the MVP trophy amid strong competition with the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic.
He averaged 32-5-6 splits for the season and shot the ball with an efficient 51.9% off the field.
The Canadians were consistent, which helped his side dominate the Western Conference, claiming the first seed with 68 wins.
Alex Caruso was also an integral part of the team as he was specially employed to add the veteran presence and defensive solidity to the roster.
He said that not having to protect Shy is one of the best things to be in OKC.
The two-time champion also revealed that the point guard game reminded me of the MVP versions of James Harden and Kyrie Irving.

Speaking about the final MVP of The Dan Patrick Show, he said: “He’s a pretty unique guy.
“I think some of the things James Harden turned out in his MVP year knows he clearly wasn’t shooting three people like James, and I think a lot of that helped him get downhill just to get to people.
“Even so, he works outside of body like Kylie. He has a bit of something like a midrange Kylie package, and finishes it on the left and right.
Thunderguard worked on his game for many years and became one of the best players in the league.
After helping the team win the first-ever championship, Gilgeous-Alexander was given a four-year, $285 million contract, leading to a lot of chatter among NBA fans.
However, he was one of the most consistent players on both ends of the floor for the team, and that was well believed.
In the MVP season, Gilgeous-Alexander attempted 21.8 shots per game, making shooting efficient at 51.9%, which is incredible.
Shai, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum and Cade Cunningham were players who tried more than 20 shots per game in the 2024-25 regular season.
Of all names, Gil Alexander was the only one who shot more than 50% off the field last season.
Thunder locked the core by offering Max contracts to SGA, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren. This has been widely appreciated around the league.
While playing his natural game, the others on their roster can step up every night to drop 20 points performances, making lightning one of the toughest aspects of the coming years.
