The Phoenix Suns are entering a new era this season after saying goodbye to both Kevin Durant and Bradley Beale.
The Phoenix Suns rebuilt their team around Devin Booker.
Booker must show the world that he is still one of the best shooting guards in the league.
If the Suns want to shock everyone, they need full team effort and important contributions through their roster.
The Suns claimed they exempted Guard Jordan Goodwin this summer after being abandoned by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Goodwin averaged 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 29 regular season games for the Lakers.
Goodwin even had a playoff with the Lakers in his first round matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
During his tenure with Los Angeles, Goodwin gained valuable experience around superstars like Luka Donsic and LeBron James.
He now hopes to take what he has learned and apply it to Sands’ current situation.
Goodwin spoke to the media on Suns Media Day and talked about going back to the Suns and staying.
“The shooting will definitely be carried over. I’ve been good at it throughout my career. I’m focused on it.
“What you can take me here after being with the Lakers is learning how to play with star players.
“I feel like I’ve gotten better playing with Luka and Bron, and here you can do these things with the book and Jalen Green.
“I feel like I’m a perfect fit here.
“After I was abandoned, Phoenix was one of the first calls I got. My agent told me, I’ll do it.
“When I was here, I loved Phoenix, I loved the community, I loved the fans. It was an easy decision to come back.”
Goodwin played for four teams during his four seasons in the league.
He played for the Washington Wizards, Suns, Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies.
The 26-year-old averaged 6.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 150 career regular season games.
Goodwin played 40 games against the Suns from 2023-24, hoping to be able to carve out a consistent role with Phoenix this time.
