Arsenal has stepped up efforts to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesco. The report shows that gunners are ready to meet a £70 million valuation for Slovenia International.
According to Sky Germany, Arsenal sports director Andrea Berta recently held a secret meeting in London with Leipzig’s Marcel Schaefer to discuss potential transfers.
Sesko’s release clause is performance-based and is currently estimated at £69 million (EUR 82 million), reflecting his impressive form this season.
Arsenal has a real interest in Sesco
The 22-year-old scored 21 goals and provided six assists in all competitions, including four goals in the Champions League.
Arsenal’s interest in Sesco has been on the rise for many years, and he was thinking about a move in January. However, the gentleman’s agreement with Leipzig delayed the transfer until the summer.
They are now open to negotiation as Leipzig failed to qualify for the Champions League.
The Gunners are facing competition with Manchester United.
Arteta signs new striker
Sky Sports News Chief Leporter Kaveh Solhekol revealed this.
“I heard from Mikel Arteta that when Arsenal called, players would say “yes” in most cases. They find it difficult to turn them down.
“I’m sure he was very impressed with what Mikel Arteta is doing at Arsenal.
“Arsenal is pushing to close the deal, and he will be Arsenal’s first signature of the summer.
“It’s not the last one. Arsenal will sign strikers this summer. I think they’ll sign world-class strikers like sports Victor Gyoker and RB Leipzig’s Benazimin Sesco.”
The gunners are also reportedly targeting the movement of AC Milan’s Rafael Rio.
