Liverpool is set to complete the signature of Bournemouth’s highly rated left back Milos Kerquez, with sources confirming that the full agreement between both clubs is finalized.
Impressed by its final Premier League campaign, Hungary International is on the verge of a prominent switch to Anfield, according to Sky Sports Reporter Flori Amplettenberg.
After several days of negotiations, the two clubs reached a consensus on the fee structure and terms of the contract. Kerquez is planning to sign a long-term contract with Liverpool.
With the final point of the contract clear, Kerkez’s medical preparations are already underway.
Liverpool is close to completing Milos Kerquez’s deal
Aside from last-minute complications, the official announcement will soon follow, with Liverpool making the third major addition of the summer after Jeremy Frimon and Florian Wiltz.
Joining Bournemouth from Az Alkmaar, Kerquez quickly established himself as a regular on the Cherry backline.
His ability to cover the ground, create overlapping runs and contribute defensively and offensively has become an attractive option for some of the larger clubs in the market.
With Andy Robertson now in his 30s and facing increased competition and injuries, Kerquez offers Liverpool a fresh option on the left side of his defense.
Arne Slot is heavily supported this summer
Kerquez’s arrival is a statement of intent from Liverpool, who has clearly supported his manager after his success in the Premier League.
The Reds reportedly decided to let Robertson leave the club this summer, so signing a new left-back has become a priority.
The Scotland’s left-back links with a move to Atletico Madrid and the arrival of Kerquez at Anfield is trying to push him down to a pecking order, so the move to Atletico makes sense to him.
Jarrell Kuanza is another defender coming out of the club this summer, with his move to Bayer Leverkusen approaching.
