McLaren could rival a stunning F1 record at Zandvoort’s next Grand Prix.
They already had four 1-2 finishes in a row, with the fifth tied to previous efforts by Ferrari and Mercedes.
Given that they have the fastest cars in Formula 1, Oscar Piastri and Rand Norris are the top two drivers’ rankings, with a fifth 1-2 finish on the spin.
However, Crash.NET experts pointed out when McLaren’s dominant racial victory form ends and who will finish it…
Conor McDona: The simple choice is Charles Leclerc. They have become the second fastest team in Formula 1 since the Ferrari upgrade at the Austrian Grand Prix.
Leclair’s sudden slowdown at Hungary’s Grand Prix remains a mystery. Many theories suggest that Ferrari was forced to manage wear on the under-car boards with closure wraps.
The comments from Leclerc and Ferrari should be best placed to pick up pieces later in the season, if the comments that the chassis issue is an “outlier” are taken at face value.
Ferrari has always excelled at Monza, so that could be Leclair’s next best chance.
Lewis Lalcum: Ferrari has made progress recently, and they look like the second fastest team these days, while they’re still behind McLaren.
With that in mind, given Hamilton’s struggle, it appears Leclair is likely to win the Ferrari driver.
Leclerc made a spectacular drive last year to win at Monza. Supported by Tifosi, can history repeat itself this year?
Perhaps a non-McLaren driver needs at least one Papaya car to win, perhaps in some way, or to bump into each other.

Ferrari, McLaren
Rachit Thukral: With Red Bull still behind in recent races, and even the podium is unusual for Max Verstappen, neutral fans may be lending banks to Leclair to bring surprises to the second half of the season.
There are already five podiums, he clearly has removed everything from the Ferrari, and there are all the reasons to hope he will stay in the fight. While his repeated Monza victory in 2024 will please Tifosi, Austin also looks promising given Ferrari’s recent track record at the US Grand Prix.
Over the past 30 years, Ferrari has not been able to win the race in just two seasons: 1994 and 2014. The team misses again in 2025, despite having the second fastest car, will be a tragedy. But when the MCL39 is incredibly reliable and Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri perform at their best, Ferrari may need more than just a pure pace…
Derry Munikartono: McLaren was an unstoppable force in 2025. The MCL39 crushed everything on that path. Oscar Piastri and Rand Norris are winning like easy mode video games. The only thing that seems to be able to stop them now is a random curveball like a strange slump in Canada, or a nightmare scenario where Piastri and Norris take each other under title pressure.
Realistically, the rest of this season will be portrayed as papaya. But in every dominant era there is an outlier circuit, and for me it is Singapore. Just as Marina Bay defeated Red Bull’s near-perfect season in 2023, it could be a venue to snap McLaren’s winning streak. Tight and twisted streets, brutal humidity, and pure mental shattering are recipes for mixed chaos. Chaos usually means opportunity.
If anyone attacks, my money is in Ferrari. They have history here. In particular, Carlos Sainz’s 2023 masterclass is the only red bull victory in the RB19 era. This time, I’m tilting Charles Leclerc to get the job done under Singapore’s lighting. If McLaren is bleeding, it’s here.
