The transfer market is set to a massive shakeup, with Manchester City identifying Rodrigo and identifying his main goal as Savinho leaves Etihad this summer.
The situation is closely tied to Tottenham, which is currently negotiating to sign Savinho, but as it faces severe resistance from the city on rates, sources close to the agent industry have notified Catch off side.
Spurs is said to have a current valuation in the region between 50 million and 600,000 euros, not in the city’s expectations.
Rodrigo’s Man City moves rely on Savinho
Only if Tottenham returns with a significantly improved offer would the Premier League giants consider leaving Savinho. If that happens, Pep Guardiola and his recruiting team are ready to shift gears straight away to Real Madrid’s star Rodrigo.
Lord Rigo, who scored 14 goals last season and earned 11 assists, is a player Guardiola has been praised for some time, especially after an impressive performance against City in the Champions League. Pep has already spoken directly with the Brazilian and is believed to outline his vision for the role Rodrigo will play in Manchester.
Real Madrid is open to assessing the offer, and the city is preparing a package of 100 million euros. This is a performance-related add-on of 80 million euros and 20 million euros.
But the competition is fierce. Both Arsenal and Liverpool are monitoring the situation for Rodrigo.
Arsenal and Liverpool show interest in Rodrigo
Arsenal was working on a loan plus purchase option, but plans are pending while evaluating Leandro Trossard’s future. Meanwhile, Liverpool could step into the race if Newcastle striker Alexander Isaac’s pursuit didn’t come true.
Tottenham also touched on the basis of Rodrigo’s camp following Hyun Min’s son’s move to MLS, but their focus is firmly on Savin Ho’s landing first.
Outside of England, PSG and Al-Nassr have shown interest, but Rodrigo’s preference is to stay in top-level European football.
For now, the Brazilian claims he has not ruled out his stay in Real Madrid, where he wants to prove himself to his new coach Xabi Alonso. However, as match times are scrutinized and the city is ready to spend a lot of time, the temptation of the Premier League remains strong.
