Manchester United winger Antony continues to attract attention for the transfer this summer as the club aims to drive Brazilians out of their books.
Provided by sources with close links to the agent industry Catch off side The latest information on Antony’s situation shows that the situation as a summer exit is slightly complicated.
Man Utd ideally wants to sell Antony forever, but so far it has proven to be a challenge so far, turning down the approach from the 25-year-old Saudi Pro League Clubs and Brazilian Side Botafogo.
Benfica is now emerging as Antony’s new suitor, but is pursuing a loan agreement.
Sources added Atletico Madrid, Brighton and RB Leipzig are three other clubs that will monitor the situation for Antony.
Can Manchester United off-road Antony?
Since Antony was the main flop for Old Trafford, it makes sense that there is probably not exactly a long list of clubs ready to pay to sign him forever.
The former Ajax man did very well in Real Betis last season, so he clearly hasn’t lost all of his abilities, but the permanent deal is still considered a bit of a gamble.
Benfica is currently able to represent United’s best bet on offloading Antony, confirming that the Portuguese giant has already given a two-round talk.
“Benfica is investigating the possibility of a loan to Antony,” said one source. “We’ve had two contacts so far, but United just wants to release players with transfer fees.”
Antony is with Man UTD’s worst signature
Since the retirement of legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, there have been many major DUDs in the MUFC transfer market.
While a huge amount of famous signatures have been spent trying to get the club back to its best, Paul Pogba, Angel Di Maria, Harry Maguire, Romell Lukaku, Mason Mount, Rasmus Hoilund and others all have been disappointed.
Antony is there most unfortunately, but it is clear that the club will have a hard time getting him out of the book.
United fans are eager to see their luck improve this summer with signings with Brian Mbeumo and Matthew Cunya, but Benjamin Sesco also appears to be an exciting addition to the present and future on his way to Manchester.
