Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz has linked his move to Barcelona in recent months and is now likely to move to the card.
Barcelona sports director Deco has confirmed negotiations for the Colombian star in Liverpool. And it has been revealed that the player wants to join the Catalan club.
Barcelona has switched attention
It has previously been reported that the Catalan giant is about to sign Diaz with an offer worth around 80 million euros. However, priorities have been changed. Deco and the technical team put Nico Williams, a young athletic Bilbao attacker, at the top of their wish list and paused Diaz’s speech.
Diaz’s desire to join Barcelona is nothing new. The player’s father previously stated that his son dreamed of playing for Barcelona. However, that dream appears to be on hold for now.
Keene Keene to Lewis Diaz
Meanwhile, sources that are close to the player’s situation are notified Catch off side Bayern Munich is closely monitoring the situation in Colombia. The German giants want to strengthen their attacking forces during the summer transfer period. Diaz is on Bayern’s shortlist along with Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli and Liverpool’s Cody Gakupo. Coach Vincent Kompany prioritizes creative and explosive forwards who can help teams compete in the UEFA Champions League.
Sources claim Bayern Munich has been informed of the situation with the Colombian winger, but they feel Liverpool’s price tag is too high. Diaz has yet to make any decisive decisions about his future. The Saudi club has also been discussing with Diaz, but they have not yet made an offer to meet financial expectations.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are willing to let players move on. He is an important player for them, scoring 17 goals last season. He got eight assists along the way. He has been one of their most important attackers since joining the club and losing him will weaken the team.
Similarly, Gakpo is also a key member of the first team (scoring 18 goals last season), and it appears unlikely that Arne Slot will sanction his departure. Liverpool is likely to acquire Darwin Nunes and Diogo Jota instead.
