Dutch defender Nathan Ake is no longer the first choice option in Pep Guardiola’s setup, and Tottenham Hotspur is keen on him.
Ake’s minutes were a serious hit, increasing the chances of a summer exit as Josco Gvaldior returned from injury and Rayan Ait Nouri was moved on left back.

Coach Thomas Frank is keen to add an experienced name that can cover both centre-back and left-back roles. Ake’s flexibility and Champions League pedigree could be a key asset for the Spurs who will push them later in the season. The club will replace him with Mickey Van de Ben and Destiny Udoguy.

Nottingham Forest and Everton are also enthusiastic about players. Newcastle United and West Ham United were interested in signing players earlier this summer.
Aké’s current market value ranges from £105 million to £20 million. Given the team’s trimming plan, bids within that bracket can pave the way for trading.
Aké’s contract will run until 2027, and the club’s negotiation skills will be strengthened as the final two years enter. With over 230 Premier League appearances, four league titles and a Champions League trophy in his name, he is a very attractive option for teams looking for experience and reliability.
Tottenham was linked to the defender during the summer transfer period, but the move never came to fruition. It will be interesting to see if they decided to come back for him when the transfer window opens. At 30, he has the quality and experience that will help them improve. If you want to regularly fight for large trophies, you need a better quality, deeper team.
Ake is a useful addition
Dutch International is versatile enough to operate in multiple roles, and his winning experience is valuable. He has won major trophies in Manchester City and knows what it takes to compete at the highest level. He was named “exceptional” by Pep Guardiola.
The opportunity to join the North London Club is exciting for players at this stage of his career, especially if he leaves Manchester City. He would want to compete at a high level, and Tottenham can provide him with that platform.
