Spain’s left-back Sergio Regiron officially entered the summer transfer market as a free agent after his contract with Tottenham expired.
The 28-year-old Regiron brings a wealth of top-flight experiences he’s played in La Liga, Premier League and European competitions, making it a valuable suggestion for clubs that require depth and stability in their left flank.
He made just six appearances for the Spurs last season. The defender wanted to leave the club in January, but he didn’t make any moves away from the Premier League club.
Italian clubs have the opportunity to sign Sergio Regiron
Regiron has already been offered to Serie a Giants Juventus and AC Milan, and sources close to the agent industry have notified Catch off side.
Both clubs have recognized the opportunity, but neither have yet to commit to the deal.
AC Milan’s situation is particularly sensitive, with Theo Hernandez leaving for Al Giral leaving a big hole in the left back.
Other options have come to the forefront in the internal discussion in Milan, including Fran Garcia of Real Madrid, Emerson Palmieri of West Ham United and Fabiano Parisi of Fiorentina.
Milan’s recruitment policy suggests that it may lean towards younger, long-term signatures rather than experienced stops.
Meanwhile, the Premier League interest in Regiron is being built. Bournemouth, Everton and West Ham United all maintain close tabs on the situation of the Spaniards.
West Ham United shows most interest in Regiron
West Ham appears to be the most enthusiastic of the three. He cites his Premier League pedigree and his readiness to make a strong and positive contribution soon.
Beyond Europe, several Saudi Arabian clubs have also expressed interest. His availability on a free transfer could reduce complications and appeal to clubs seeking to secure international carry-out talent without the need for a large transfer fee.
Despite strong interest, Regiron remains a patient. His next move will likely rely on guaranteed playtime, project ambitions, and the opportunity to reestablish himself at the highest level.
